Background:
The Mayor is participating in the 2024 Silicon Valley Mayors' China Trip, which China Silicon Valley will organize from May 19 to 26. China Silicon Valley is a nonprofit organization founded in 2012 to foster investment, business, and tourism exchanges between China and Silicon Valley. This is the first trip back to China organized by China Silicon Valley since the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The 2nd part of Antioch Mayor’s China Trip was hosted by Chongqing Municipal Government. The Chongqing government emphasized the importance of inter-cultural understanding by developing sister-city partnerships. In addition the government hosted a Green City Development Summit focused on building green, resilient and inclusive cities to mitigate the impacts of climate change.
