Mayor Lamar Thorpe's Statement re. Roe vs. Wade

Mayor Lamar Thorpe's statement concerning the leaked draft opinion regarding U.S. Supreme Court's anticipated decision of Roe vs. Wade:

The U.S. Congress should immediately codify Roe vs. Wade and make it the law of the land legislatively.

Gov. Gavin Newsom has my upmost support in advancing measures to protect and expand women's reproductive health right here in California.

As Mayor, I stand with national organizations like Planned Parenthood, NARAL Pro Choice American, Feminist Majority Foundation, National Organization for Women (NOW) and many others who have been the foot-soldiers in the fight to protect and advance women's reproductive health rights.

I will be making a personal financial contribution to several of these organizations and encourage others to do the same.

I'll say it louder and with more resolve, we gotta keep fighting!!!
